When you hear it is a 14 mile round trip hike you know it’s going to be a long day.
But add in to that the 5000 feet elevation gain in the first 7 miles and the difficulty ratchets up. Then the climb up the cables to the top…O. M. G.!!! And then you learn that the 5000 feet you lose in descending is more arduous than the first and this hike becomes a bit of a monster!
But you can see from the video that the spectacular view draws a lot of hikers. And you can see why people put this iconic rock on their bucket list.
