And these guys got to experience two flash floods on their hike out from Havasupai Falls. In the video you can hear one of the hikers say it had not even been raining — not sure why his pack has a rain–proof cover, maybe the threat of rain.
They realized the flash flood was coming in time to get up on higher ground and film this incredible sight. Most impressive is how quickly the surge of water deepened, and how powerfully that water moved.
So, hikers, if you don’t know the area, educate yourself on the particular beauties and the hazards both.
